Camping near Lake Michigan, part two.

So, now that we've got to see what the camp site and some of our cooking methods, here is what we did in between meals!

We found a dune buggy ride on Google and decided to give it a try. Mac Woods Dune Rides. I wasn't even aware Michigan had sprawling sand dunes. We don't have those in Ohio (at least I don't think we do)! So we were intrigued and decided to give it a whirl and see what it was all about!

A little pre game shot of the family. There was a great ice cream place right across from the lot called Whippy Dip. They even had my favorite flavor of all time: bubble gum with the chunks of bubble gum right in the ice cream. I don't see it often so when I saw it on the menu, it was like a sign that it was about to be a great time.

This is Tim, and he was our dune driver. And he was hilarious! He drove us around the dunes, stopped and told stories and was generally awesome. He really made the trip awesome! He explained that Mac Woods has been doing these rides for over eighty years! Impressive!

And this, Tim explained, is what happens on the dune rides if you don't wear your seat belt. Tim said they left the poor rider there because it was a good warning for future riders! Haha!

We finally got to see just how big Lake Michigan is!

And just how COLD Lake Michigan is! It was freezing cold in July!

A nice shot of the kids on the beach!

Another great shot of the kids!

And we will finish our trip in part three!
