Taking time for family

I love food. If you have spent any time on this blog, this shouldn't come as a surprise to you. But central to that passion is my family. I grew up in a household where my mother would bake my bread for my lunches daily. Everything was from scratch. Fresh tamales. Fresh sauces. Everything cooked with love and passion and that left its mark on me. In my life now, I do the same for my family. I took my uninitiated fiance and taught him to cook, and now he's very handy in the kitchen. And when my extended family gets together, we always cook huge meals. When we visit my family, they cook a feast for us. And when my family visits us, we cook a spread for them. We bond and share our love for each other, and we express that through the food that we cook. I feel very fortunate to have that in my life.

This blog entry doesn't contain recipes or meal ideas. I want to share with you my family experiences. All of us cooking together. Laughing together. And ultimately showing each other just how much we love one another through the food that we make. This post is dedicated to my family, who I love and cherish.
